Wendy Rockne
Dance Instructor
Wendy Rockne is an alumna of PSPA and has been teaching dance for over 25 years. She teaches many different styles of dance to students ages 2-adult, both at the recreational and competitive levels. Her choreography has won many judges’ choice and special awards at regional competitions.
Wendy earned her Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Theater from Bridgewater State University, where she danced with and choreographed for the BSU Dance Company. She recently earned a Post-Graduate Diploma in Dance Teaching from the Royal Academy of Dance and holds a doctorate in Education from Northeastern University. Wendy is certified in Acrobatic Arts Modules 1 and 2 and Aerials/Back Handsprings. She is also certified in Progressing Ballet Technique.
Wendy’s extensive training spans modern, jazz, tap, contemporary, lyrical, ballet, hip-hop, musical theater, and creative movement. She is a lifelong learner, and she regularly attends dance teacher training workshops and technique classes. She is a member of Dance Masters of America, Dance Masters of New England, National Dance Education Organization, and Boston Dance Alliance. She believes that dance is for everybody, and she hopes that her classes bring joy to her students!
Outside of her dance career, Wendy is an Assistant Professor in the English department at Bridgewater State University. She teaches in the Writing Studies program and is the Faculty Director of the BSU Writing Studio.
