Classical Ballet Lessons & Training for every level

Ballet Classes at PSPA

 --------------  For ages 2.5 - Adults

Our ballet classes provide both recreational dancers and aspiring professionals with a strong technical foundation in a positive, encouraging, and inspiring atmosphere. Students develop proper ballet technique and terminology through barre work, center floor exercises, adagio, turns, jumps, leaps, and pointe or pre-pointe work when appropriate. Ballet builds strength, grace, discipline, and artistry while creating the technical foundation that supports growth in all other dance styles. Pointe work is offered when appropriate

Class Highlights

Pembroke School of Performing Arts ballet classes are designed to give both recreational and aspiring dancers a strong fundamental dance foundation in a positive and exciting atmosphere.

Combination Ballet-Tap Class

Our combination ballet classes are the perfect starting point for young dancers ages 3–12, building a strong foundation in a positive, encouraging atmosphere. Depending on their age and experience, students progress through Ballet & Tap, then add Jazz in their third year and beyond. Classes focus on age-appropriate technique and terminology, with the fall and winter months dedicated to building skills and spring transitioning into choreography for our annual June performance. Dancers typically perform two to three dances in the June show. A free "sister" class is available to make up any sessions missed due to illness or weather — because we never want a dancer to fall behind.

Company Ballet Classes

Company ballet at PSPA is designed for dedicated dancers who are ready to take their training to the next level. These placement-based classes — spanning Junior and Senior Company levels — focus on barre work, center floor work, adagio and turns, allegro for jumps and leaps, and pointe or pre-pointe where appropriate. The curriculum is built around age- and skill-level appropriate progression to develop strength, flexibility, technique, and musical artistry. Company students have the opportunity to perform in all five performances of our June show and have additional opportunities to perform at community events throughout the year. Company classes are offered at a reduced rate as part of a bundled program — Junior Company includes Ballet, Tap, and Jazz; Senior Company adds Modern, with additional styles available at reduced rates. Placement is required; please speak with our staff before enrolling.
