Dance Instructor
Meghan Lewis teaches Intermediate and Advanced Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical and Contemporary and choreographs for the PSPA competition dance team.
Meghan started her dance education at 3 years old with April, May, and June's School of Dance. At age 8 she moved to continue her dance education at New England Dance Academy located in North Attleboro, MA. She took classes in ballet, Hip Hop, contemporary & lyrical, Jazz, Tap, and Acro to maintain a well rounded knowledge and skill in multiple different styles. Meghan danced on NEDA's competitive dance team until she graduated high school where she won multiple National titles with her dance team.
Meghan then went to Roger Williams University where she studied Graphic Design Communications and Marketing. During her time in college she continued her dance education with Roger William's Dance & Performance studies program taking classes in choreography and multiple styles that started at a base of modern. She performed in shows with the Dance Theatre program for her Freshman and Sophomore years of college. Navigating college at the same time as COVID-19, she continued dance education virtually and via zoom, shifting her education focus in areas of the history and anatomy of dance. In her Junior and Senior years of college Meghan was heavily involved in Roger William's Dance club as a dance and choreographer. She performed with multiple different styles including contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, and Heels. She choreographed a total of 4 pieces for the dance club & co-choreographed pieces mixing contemporary and tap styles.
After college, Meghan started with PSPA summer programs, where she then developed into the role of a weekly class teacher and competition choreographer. Meghan takes great pride in the development of her students as dancers, team players, and functioning members of society. She has had the great joy of seeing her soloists, group dances & productions earn special awards,earn highest adjudications, and place overall and Judges' Choice recognitions.
Meghan is also a part of SynchorniCITY Dance Company based in Boston. Where she performed in their First and Third seasons dance shows. She has performed pieces of Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Heels.
Outside of her dancing & teaching life, Meghan works full-time as a Wedding and Events Coordinator & Sales Associate at Miraval Gardens by Wedgewood Weddings. Meghan is passionate in every aspect of both of her careers and is constantly seeking opportunities to challenge herself, grow, educate, and expand her horizons.
