Kelsey Sorenson

Choreographer, Teacher

Ballet, Modern, Jazz Senior Company

BFA, Modern Dance, Utah Valley University

Miss Kelsey Sorenson joined our dance faculty during the summer of 2020. She grew up in Maryland and St. George, Utah and developed a passion for dance at a very young age. She recently graduated cum laude from Utah Valley University with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Modern Dance. During her studies at UVU, she received numerous performance opportunities, such as being a guest artist for Repertory Dance Theatre in their restaging and performance of Doris Humphrey’s Passacaglia, and performing as a company member of UVU’s Synergy Dance company for 3 years.  Kelsey also recently had the opportunity to participate in a full-length immersive concert as a company member with Utah’s Wasatch Contemporary Dance II.

In addition to performing, Kelsey also has a deep love for choreography. She has presented choreography at the Utah Conference for Undergraduate Research and for other choreography festivals around the state. She has choreographed repeatedly for companies at Utah Valley University and  as a guest choreographer for several Utah high schools. As a Senior, she was asked to be the Student Director of Synergy Dance Company. There she enjoyed exploring her leadership talents. Kelsey has been teaching for many years now and absolutely adores it. She has taught at several dance studios around the Utah County area in various styles, including (but not limited to): Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, and Jazz. Upon graduating, Kelsey made a big move to the Boston area, and is so excited to be on the east coast and seizing all the amazing opportunities here in Massachusetts! Most recently, she has received recognition for her choreography in our 2022 PSPA Dance Team!
