Contemporary dance is an expressive style of dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Though it incorporates multiple genres of dance, contemporary dance allows for more upper body movement and unconventional movements from styles around the world. Dancers often use contrasting rhythms, directions, and postures and learn that the floor is their first partner. Curriculum for this class is designed for dancers typically with more than 2 – 3 years of structured classes.
This class can be added to any course of study as a supplemental class at a reduced rate, or taken as single class. It requires placement approval, please inquire for proper placement.
