Our Mission Statement

Pembroke School of Performing Arts promotes the art of dance through programs that provide students the opportunity to explore, discover, and create dance at a level appropriate for their age, skill, and desire.

Our Philosophy

Movement is a common thread, which binds all individuals regardless of race, color, wealth, or age. Dance expresses, communicates, and explores emotions, moods, and ideas to others. It often transcends verbal language and can cross cultural lines. It can be a means of cultural pride, an artistic statement, or simply an expression of celebration. It is that which inspires the soul to move. PSPA welcomes students into their dance family, and encourages and nurtures students to experience the many styles of dance and related arts.

Our Goals

Our goals include the development of kinesthetic intelligence, to create the opportunity for self-expression, to teach the value and the skills of creative problem solving and risk taking, promoting positive self-esteem and confidence. PSPA provides students the opportunity to learn, perform, and analyze proper dance technique. It also encourages our students to establish positive health practices and a healthy life.

Community Outreach

Pembroke School of Performing Arts staff and students have been and continue to be actively involved in our South Shore communities each year since we started in 1988. We feel that this is important in many ways, including supporting our towns and population young and old, providing entertainment and support for seniors, children, and community events. In addition, this provides additional opportunities for our students to perform and grow individually and as part of the community, as well as opportunities for community service and involvement for all of our students.

These events have included: Pembroke Arts Festival, "Kids Fairs" in Pembroke, Plymouth, Kingston, many area nursing homes, Pembroke and Plymouth Girl Scouts, Coalition For The Homeless, Cardinal Cushing School, Zip Drive, Duxbury 4th of July Parade, Plymouth Thanksgiving Parade, SS Hospital Walk For Hospice, Pembroke Home Days Fair, and many more.
